Disclaimer: All bad guys in this post are anti-heroes, they aren’t the squeaky clean boy next door.

Name: Lothaire

Book: Lothaire

Author: Kresley Cole

Why he’s an anti-hero: You don’t get a moniker like The Enemy of Old for being a nice guy.

Why we love him:  brilliantly smart and loyal to the one he loves, you know, once he figures out she IS the one he loves. Meh, semantics.

“Admit it, love, you like it when I’m a little bad….”  – Lothaire

Name: Zorus

Book: Redeeming Zorus

Author: Laurann Dohner

Why he’s an anti-hero: hates all humans with a fiery passion and wants to do bad things to them. Not the kind of bad things you’d enjoy, either.

Why we love him: willing to admit when he is wrong, because dude falls head over heels for a human. Fate, she’s kind of funny like that.

Name: Knight Sebring

Book: Knight

Author: Kristen Ashley

Why he’s an anti-hero: He’s an overbearing asshole who barges into your life uninvited and starts making changes immediately.

Why we love him: Oh, the things he says. *swoon.

“Wars fought over a face like this,” he murmured like he was talking to himself, my heart stopped beating and his thumbs moved lightly across my cheeks. “A man would work himself into the ground for it, go down to his knees to beg to keep it, endure torture to protect it, take a bullet for it,” his eyes came to mine, “poison his brother to possess a face like this.”

– Knight

Name: Viscount Sebatian St. Vincent

Book: Devil in Winter

Author:  Lisa Kleypas

Why he’s an anti-hero: He’s so wicked that even a few moments alone with him will ruin a woman’s reputation forever.

Why we love him: he’s a perfect example of a rake turned loving husband because he found his soul mate.

“The situation was extraordinary. How someone like Evangeline Jenner could have wrought such a change in St. Vincent, the most worldly of men, was difficult to understand. However, Westcliff had learned that the mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”

Name: Tatum Jackson

Book:  Sweet Dreams

Author: Kristen Ashley

Why he’s an anti-hero: he makes the heroine feel really bad about herself.

Why we love him: spends the rest of the book proving that while he is an ass, he’s sweet  and will only be your ass for life.

“Two kinds of women get under your skin. The ones who do damage, they don’t feel good there but once you’re fuckin’ stupid enough to let them in you got no choice but to take the time it takes to work them out. Then there are the ones who don’t do damage, who feel good there, feed the muscle, the bone, the soul, not rip it or break it or burn it. The ones you don’t wanna work out.”  – Tate

Name: Jax Teller

Television Series: Sons of Anarchy

Why he’s an anti-her0: murder, adultery, theft, gun trafficking….the list goes on.

Why we love him: when he’s not involved in criminal activities, he’s  charming and a lover. He’s kind of controversial to me, I’m not a big Jax fan, but loads of women love him.

Khal Drogo

Why he’s an anti-hero: he has zero cares about rape, murder, and pillaging.

Why we love him: He wanted to win not one but seven kingdoms in the name of his wife and son.

“Jalan Atthirari Anni” – Drogo (Moon of my life in Dothraki)

Name: Han Solo

Star Wars Franchise

Why he’s an anti-hero: a smuggler who doesn’t pay his debts and shoots first.

Why we love him: You love him, he knows. Sure, he bailed before the fight but he always came back to help against his better judgement.

“I love you.” – Han Solo

“I know.” – Princess Leia

Name: Captain Hook af215afa1f9227e8ec21f59c2b6b4799

Television Series: Once Upon a Time

Why he’s an anti-hero: a grown man out for the blood of a boy.

Why we love him: he started out as a villain and is now on his way to being the main love interest, that takes talent.

Name: Loki Laufeyson

Marvel’s Thor and Avengers Franchises

Why he’s an anti-hero: He’s repsonsible for a lot of death and destruction.

Why we love him: Thor: The Dark World SPOILERS!!!!!!

Did you see how upset he was over his mother? He just needs the right woman to come along and mend his broken heart.  I’d like to volunteer!

  5. OMG! We interact so much already on FB, how is it that I’m just now finding you here? (Slacker. That’s me. Sorry…but I rectified the issue and am now following you.)

I’m definitely a Lothaire fan. No question. There are so many great anti-heroes out there that it’s tough to pick just one. If pressed, I think one of my all time favorite anti-heroes was Rhett Butler.
